Description

This green dream kombucha smoothie blends a variety of fruits with spinach to create a delightful mix of flavors. Not only are you getting a delicious drink, but you’re also getting a high dose of healthy goodness in each sip.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 handful spinach
  • 1⁄2 avocado
  • 1⁄2 cup mango chunks
  • 1⁄2 apple
  • 4 ounces of black tea kombucha
  • A few ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Freeze the mango chunks until firm, typically between 3 to 5 hours. Once frozen, continue with the recipe.
  2. Slice and core the apple and avocados.
  3. Add the spinach, frozen mango, apple, kombucha, and ice cubes to the blender.
  4. Blend for 15 seconds.
  5. Add the avocado and blend the mixture for about 10 seconds or until smooth.
  6. Gently pour the mixture into a serving glass.
  7. Garnish the glass with fresh fruit or herbs. (Optional)
  8. Enjoy your kombucha smoothie!

Notes

You can use white or green tea kombucha instead of black tea. Subtle flavor changes will depend on the kombucha tea you use as the base.

If you don’t have spinach, you can substitute it for kale, celery, spirulina, or Swiss chard. You may want to cook the Swiss chard slightly or add a few teaspoons of cane sugar to the blend to remove the bitterness.

Experiment with other fruit and spice combinations! Blueberries and kiwis are great additions. Turmeric and fresh ginger can also add some nutrient-rich warmth to the smoothie.

Add coconut, almond, or oat milk if you want to thin out the smoothie while remaining dairy-free.
