Strawberry Papaya Kombucha Smoothie

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 Serving 1x

Description

Papaya’s sweet taste, combined with the tanginess of kombucha, makes for a delicious fruit smoothie with abundant vitamins and nutrients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz black tea kombucha
  • 4 oz frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup diced papaya
  • 1 teaspoon honey or agave nectar
  • Sliced strawberry to garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and dice the papaya.
  2. Combine frozen strawberries and papaya in a blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Add the kombucha and sweetener and blend for 5-10 seconds until thoroughly mixed.
  4. Pour into a glass.
  5. Garnish with sliced strawberry (optional).
  6. Enjoy!

Notes

Green or white tea kombucha can be used instead of black tea kombucha. For extra flavor, you could also use strawberry kombucha.

If you do not have honey or agave, you can choose your preferred sweetener, such as white sugar, cane sugar, stevia, maple syrup, etc. If you don’t have one of the fruit ingredients, some suitable substitutes include watermelon, kiwi, blueberries, or apples.

Add a scoop of protein powder or a superfood such as spirulina or chia seeds for added benefits to this already healthy smoothie. To make your smoothie a bit creamier, add oat, coconut, or almond milk.

Make it a smoothie bowl. Add a handful of ice to the blender (for a thicker consistency). Pour the smoothie into a bowl and top it with cacao nibs, granola, flax seeds, peanut butter, goji berries, etc.
