Description
If you enjoy the subtly sweet vanilla flavor, this flavored kombucha recipe is perfect for you. It is delicious on its own but can also be a tasty addition to several different juices, smoothies, mocktails, and even cocktails.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups homemade kombucha, any type
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- Sliced fruit of choice for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- After the first fermentation, measure out 4 cups of kombucha.
- Pour the vanilla extract into your air-tight F2 fermenting vessel.
- Pour the kombucha into the same vessel.
- Seal the jar tightly and leave it to ferment for 4-7 days away from direct sunlight.
- When it’s fermented to your liking, move it to the fridge.
- Garnish with fruit of choice (optional).
- Enjoy!
Notes
Approximately one whole fresh vanilla bean equals 1 tbsp of vanilla extract. If you’re using vanilla bean paste, the measurement is the same as the extract.
The type of kombucha you use is up to you. I like green tea kombucha because its earthy flavors pair nicely with the subtle sweetness of the vanilla. However, you can use white or black tea kombucha as well.
