Ingredients
- 4 fl oz acai berry juice
- 4 fl oz black tea kombucha
- 1/2 teaspoon spirulina powder
- Ice cubes (optional)
- Fresh strawberry and herbs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Pour the kombucha, acai berry juice, and spirulina powder into a glass.
- Stir the ingredients together until thoroughly mixed.
- Add the ice cubes to chill the drink (optional).
- Slice the strawberry into thin slices and place them on the rim of the glass with fresh herbs to garnish.
Notes
Use organic acai and other organic ingredients for higher quality.
Generally speaking, acai juice has added sweeteners. However, if you want to skip the extra sugar, look for unsweetened acai berry juice, which may lessen the drink’s sweetness.
If you cannot find spirulina powder, you can substitute hemp seeds, moringa powder, or wheatgrass powder. Or, you can leave the spirulina out, though you will be leaving out a source of protein and many essential nutrients.
You can make this recipe with green tea or white tea kombucha. This will give you a burst of even more antioxidants, which can aid the body in preventing and slowing cell damage by free radicals.
Ensure to measure the ingredients of this recipe cautiously. They are balanced perfectly here, but too much spirulina could make this tea bitter.
