This refreshing beverage is a delight to sip on, especially during hot summer days. Not only is it great tasting, but its nutrient profile is also attractive!
Making this beverage is very simple—all you need to do are mix its three main ingredients. Unlike other kombucha recipes, which require a 2-day-long fermentation process, you can enjoy drinking blush rose kombucha immediately after mixing.

Blush Rose Kombucha
Total Time: 5 minutes
Yield: 4 Servings 1x
Description
Blush rose kombucha is bubbly, sweet, and slightly tart. The earthiness of the green tea complements the strawberries, creating a unique and enticing beverage.
Instructions
- Mash the diced strawberries until they become small, juiced bits.
- Pour the mashed strawberries into a wire mesh strainer atop a small jar. Squeeze the strawberries to extract the juices. Keep only the juices in the jar.
- Add the kombucha to the strawberry liquid.
- Add the rosewater to the kombucha strawberry mix.
- Add a handful of ice.
- Garnish with optional lemon slices, fresh strawberries, or edible flowers.
Notes
If you prefer a sweeter drink, mix a teaspoon of cane sugar into the strawberry juice and stir until the sugar dissolves.
Using fresh strawberries is preferable since you can extract more juice from them, but you can use frozen ones. Before juicing frozen strawberries, allow them to thaw at room temperature.
Serve a smaller portion in a champagne glass if you’re celebrating an event.
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
What Does Blush Rose Kombucha Taste Like?
Blush rose kombucha features floral, sweet, and fruity flavors of summer. More specifically, one can detect fresh strawberries and botanicals when sipping this drink.
This kombucha blend feels sophisticated, delicate, and pure, especially when the green tea has been steeped in filtered water. Every sip rouses the senses, and the final mouthfeel has a refreshingly sweet flavor. Some enthusiasts say it has prosecco-like qualities because of the kombucha’s natural carbonation.
What Is Rosewater?
Rosewater is an alcohol-free fragrant liquid made by steaming rose petals with water.
Ancient recipes for this liquid date back to the 8th to 11th centuries A.D. in the Middle East. Instead of being used for wellness, it was commonly used topically as a beauty serum. Currently, 90% of the world’s rosewater comes from Iran.
The taste of rosewater can be described as sweet, floral, and subtly perfume-like. It is commonly used in desserts, such as Turkish delight and baklava, as well as in savory dishes like tagines and biryanis.
Rosewater isn’t readily available in small local grocery stores, but you can try scouring the international food section (or asking checkout counters) in big retailers.
6 Health Benefits of Blush Rose Kombucha
Blush rose kombucha has many essential nutrients and minerals. From the flavonoids in the strawberry to the live cultures and bacteria of the kombucha, there are quite a lot of benefits this humble drink packs underneath its lovely rose-red exterior, including the following:
- Supports gut health: The live bacteria in kombucha benefit gut health, making this beverage an apt choice for people with digestive issues.
- Improves mood and cognition: Strawberries help boost cognition and mental abilities and lower the risk of dementia.
- Boosts immune system: The probiotics found in this drink further strengthen the immune system, making it a powerful choice for bolstering one’s defenses against illnesses.
- Good vitamin source: Rosewater contains flavonoids, antioxidants, tannins, and vitamins A, B3, C, D, and E.
- Good antioxidant source: Strawberries are rich in antioxidants called anthocyanin, which can help reduce inflammation.
- Good for gut health: Strawberries and kombucha work in tandem to restore balance in the microbiome.
How Much Caffeine Is in Blush Rose Kombucha?
Rosewater and strawberries are caffeine-free, and green tea is one of the least caffeinated tea varieties. One serving of blush rose kombucha contains approximately 10 mg of caffeine.
This amount is significantly lower than caffeine in a cup of black coffee, so you don’t have to worry about staying up with caffeine jitters after drinking this kombucha in the evening.
Can You Use a Different Type of Tea for This Recipe?
The gentle, herbal profile of green tea makes it the perfect match for the delicate flavor of this non-alcoholic drink. White or oolong tea are also great options. However, black tea is too robust and will throw off the delicate flavors of this beverage.
Experimenting is at the heart of organic kombucha brewing, and each palate differs. Feel free to switch up the base ingredients and see what suits you best.
Should You Make This Recipe with Young, Sweet Kombucha or Older, Sour Kombucha?
I generally love using young, sweet kombucha for this recipe. The light sweetness from the green tea kombucha offers the perfect base for the rosewater strawberry mix. Just be sure to ferment it enough for some sourness (and the good bacteria) to kick in.
If you like your kombucha exclusively sour and with less residual sugar, you can still get good results by using older kombucha in this recipe.
Alternatively, if you don’t have the time or energy to brew your own, try Mighty Brew’s Heritage Blush Rose Kombucha. It is made with organic sencha and Assam tea with raspberry juice instead of strawberries.
